Helping offshore workers meet the November 2026 weight cap

NEW WEIGHT LOSS PROGRAMME TO HELP OFFSHORE WORKERS MEET THE NOVEMBER 2026 WEIGHT CAP

ABERDEEN, 25 February 2026 – Healthoutfit has launched Fit2Fly, a digital weight management platform built specifically for the offshore workforce. Accessible from any device at fit2fly.vip, the 24-week programme gives every subscriber a dedicated Wellness Coach, body composition tracking (including 3D body scans for those based in or travelling through Aberdeen), and practical tools designed around the realities of offshore life, whether they’re on the rig or at home between rotations.

The launch comes at a critical time. Offshore Energies UK (OEUK) has set a clear deadline: from 1 November 2026, any worker weighing more than 124kg clothed will not be permitted to travel offshore and will not receive a valid medical certificate.

OEUK estimates around 5,000 offshore workers may be affected to varying degrees. The transition phase is already underway, with reduced-duration medical certificates being issued to those near or above the limit – and the clock is ticking.

“Fit2Fly isn’t an off-the-shelf solution, it’s been built from the ground up by our team, drawing on years of hands-on experience in workplace wellness,” says Georgie Howden, Wellbeing & Lifestyle Manager at Healthoutfit. What makes it work is that every bit of personalisation comes not from an algorithm, but from a real Wellness Coach who genuinely knows their stuff, whether that’s building someone’s exercise programme or reviewing their nutrition.”

Georgie continues, “We’ve built Fit2Fly around the specific challenges offshore workers face every day, from eating in the galley to staying active on a platform. This isn’t about deprivation, it’s about education, support, and building habits that last. The November deadline is real, and we want people to meet it feeling better than ever.”

Fit2Fly runs over 24 weeks with a clear structure that builds week by week:

  • Weeks 1–7: The foundations of healthy eating basics, breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacking, portion control, food labelling, and energy management, finishing with a 6-week review and goal reset
  • Weeks 8–13: Deepening habits with mindful eating, hydration, overcoming setbacks, and building a stronger focus on protein
  • Weeks 14–17: Refinement and advanced skills in nutrition and wellness
  • Weeks 18–22: Lifestyle integration making healthy choices the default, wherever you are
  • Weeks 23–24: Restaurant mastery, final body composition assessment, and a personalised maintenance plan to keep the results going

Every Fit2Fly subscriber gets:

  • Body composition tracking at weeks 1, 13, and 24 with 3D body scans at Healthoutfit’s Aberdeen location or guided self-measurement tools for those based elsewhere
  • A dedicated Wellness Coach with regular 1:1 check-ins throughout the programme
  • Access to the Fit2Fly digital platform at fit2fly.vip from any device, any time
  • Short coaching videos at key points in the programme
  • Personalised exercise programmes and individual nutrition reviews
  • Offshore-specific resources
  • A suite of practical tools
